Director: Melinda Walsh
Please kindly accept my application request for Director position for CMSA LI or any other suitable position available. As I am new, willing and able committed member. I work for Royal Certified Home Care, as an Account Executive managing Hospitals in the Nassau County Area, facilitating with home care coordination along with the Nurse Case Management department. I have over 15 years Marketing in this industry, in the tri-county area, and recently servicing Long Island. On a personal note, both living and working on Long Island, has been an absolute dream come true. I have recently participated in the annual symposium. Where I had already brought on 2 new members to the organization. I know my experience and expertise will be of value to CMSA LI as well as offer me personal growth and further my career. I look forward to being an active member of the board and help grow this wonderful organization
Treasurer: Elaine Halloran
As a recently retired Director of Care Management with 36 years in Care Management remaining an active member of the CMSALI Board is a way to stay connected to the practice of Care Management and to continue to support, educate and mentor Care Managers. I joined CMSA in 1996 and have participated in the Membership Committee and the Annual Conference Committee. I was able to attend National Conferences and met many professional and dedicated Care Managers from all areas of the US as well as international chapters. I was a CMSA LI Director and Treasurer for 5 years I took a short break to concentrate on earning my MS in Health Care Policy and Management at Stony Brook University. I have been CCM Certified for many years. I was fortunate to have worked in several different areas of Case Management - Multispecialty Medical Group, Managed Care Organization and Acute Care. Along the way I have met and learned from some of the best patient advocates in health care. My last position before retiring in September 2022 was as Director of Care Management at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn. While at SFH I earned the 2012 Nancy Donlon Spirit Award for Management, and the CM Department won the 2020 Catholic Health Pinnacle Award in Acute Care.
Vice President: Shelly Samuels
I have been in the Home Care industry for 20 years whether it be in home infusion, certified home health agency or licensed home care in the private pay sector SNF Rehab. In 2004 I worked for Advanced Care Inc which was a home infusion company and then I went to work for VNSNY CHHA as an Account Manager and then with Alvita Care as a Sales Director, Americare Pharmaceutical Services home infusion company. Currently I am the Director of Marketing for Carerite Centers I represent Glengariff Rehab and Water’s Edge rehab. I deal with Case Managers and Social workers with my current role. With this position I work closely and collaboratively with Case Managers in various sectors including hospitals, the community and Assisted Livings communities. I am an active CMSA member for over 18 years. I am active with the CMSA NYC chapter too. By attending their meetings and networking.
